This Cookie Policy explains how Roamaya uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our Platform. It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control their use.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They help the website recognize your device and remember information about your visit, such as your login status and preferences.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary)
These cookies are required for the Platform to function. They cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
access_token | Authentication — maintains your logged-in session (httpOnly, Secure) | Session / until expiry |
user_role | Role-based navigation (determines dashboard access) | Session / until expiry |
2.2 Analytics Cookies
These help us understand how visitors interact with the Platform so we can improve it.

|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Maintains session state | 2 years |

2.3 Functional Cookies
These enable enhanced functionality and personalization.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |

| Recently viewed trips | Show recently browsed trips | 30 days |
3. Third-Party Cookies
- Google Analytics (GA4): Used for aggregate usage analytics. Data is anonymized and not used for advertising. Google's Privacy Policy.
- Razorpay: May set cookies during the payment checkout process for fraud prevention and session management.
- Google OAuth: May set temporary cookies during the sign-in flow.
4. Local Storage & Session Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser storage for:
- Local Storage: Caching user preferences, recently viewed items, and UI state (e.g., Zustand store persistence).
- Session Storage: Temporary data during a single browser session (form drafts, navigation state).
These are not sent to servers with every request (unlike cookies) and are controlled entirely by the browser.
5. How to Control Cookies
5.1 Browser Settings
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
5.2 Google Analytics Opt-Out
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5.3 Impact of Disabling Cookies
- Essential cookies disabled: You will not be able to log in or use authenticated features.
- Analytics cookies disabled: No impact on functionality; we simply cannot track your usage for improvement purposes.
- Functional cookies disabled: Some personalization features may not work (preferences reset on each visit).
6. Do Not Track (DNT)
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Currently, there is no industry-wide standard for DNT compliance. Roamaya does not currently respond to DNT signals but respects your cookie preferences set through the mechanisms described above.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
